About Emma
Emma Croft is a British Actress and an award-winning film director. Also a writer and producer her filmmaking focuses on emotionally precise, female-led storytelling across narrative and documentary cinema. Her stories are character-driven, performance-led, and rooted in lived experience. She is currently based in London.
As an actress Emma’s work spans many years from acting alongside Colin Firth in Master of the Moor, to being a guest on the The Bill, and playing Benja in the movie of Smilla's Feeling for Snow, and also working with Aisling Walsh on Lynda La Plante's Trial and Retribution to create the character of Cindy in T&R 2.

Her directorial debut feature film Invincible has received significant festival recognition, winning multiple awards including Best Film at BIFA qualifying Ramsgate International Film Festival 2026 and Best Actress at BIFA qualifying Unrestricted View Film Festival 2026 and Best Director at UK Film Awards 2025 as well as Best Film at Saturn Return Film Festival and Milton Keynes International Film Festival amongst others. The film establishes her as a confident new voice in UK independent cinema.
Emma’s short poetic documentary about the last summer of boyhood, Holding On, has screened on the international festival circuit, winning awards including the Best Short Documentary at New Renaissance Film Festival, Winner at Emerging Talents award 2025 and Best Documentary at The London Film and Horror Awards. This film has traveled to In The Palace Festival in Bulgaria, Cannes, and Sydney.
With a professional background in acting, Emma brings a deep understanding of performance to her directing supporting nuanced, authentic work with actors and contributors alike.
She is the founder of Asphalt City Films, a UK-based production company dedicated to developing grounded, female-led projects. Emma currently has a short film in the last stages of post production called The Path and several feature films in development with strong festival and audience potential. And she is also the co-founder of Vince Film which she started with Samantha Seager, they have another feature film project in development together.

Their second short film, The Path (2026), a narrative film centered on a life-altering decision, is currently in post-production.
